19 Years of Success
In September of 2005, Success Studio opened its doors—a dream come true after 11 years of working as a personal trainer and five years of managing a Gold's Gym. I had finally achieved my goal of creating a place that I could call my own.
Now, as I help others start their small businesses, I often reflect on the journey it took to get here: the hurdles to overcome, the late nights and early mornings, and the constant challenges of running a small business. Many times, I faced problems that I had no idea how to fix, but each obstacle made this place stronger and more meaningful.
Working in commercial gyms, I saw the need for a place where people could feel safe and comfortable—somewhere they could learn not just how to work out, but also how to maintain their health and fitness as they aged.
Success Studio became more than a gym; it became a community where people could be part of something greater than themselves. It’s a place that nurtures its members, teaches them the small nuances of fitness, and helps them stay active as they get older. For me, that’s a big deal.
Every September, I take time to reflect on the journey and, most importantly, to say thank you to our clients. Without you, this place wouldn't exist. You give us purpose, and you give us the opportunity to share our knowledge and love for what we do.
As I look back over my 34 years in this industry, one conclusion always stands out: there is nothing more impactful that I could do in life than what I do here every day. Seeing people realize what they are capable of, overcoming obstacles, and learning that no matter how old you are, you can keep getting stronger and maintaining your health—this is why I do what I do.
The events we host in September are like reunions for the Success Studio family. It's an opportunity to reconnect with people you might not see every day, whether they come in the morning or the evening. Part of what makes this place special is the community we've built—a community where we all take care of one another, something you don’t see much anymore. I’m proud that Success Studio is a bit of a throwback in that sense, a place where you always belong.
Once you’re part of the Success Studio family, you’re always a part of us. Whether you're a current member or not, we invite you to come share food and drink with us on the tomorrow, September 28 from 10a.m. to 2p.m. We’d love to reminisce, enjoy each other’s company, and celebrate one more time.
God has truly blessed me with this studio. I don't take credit for what it is or what it has become because I know I couldn’t have done this alone. It’s because the Lord has placed incredible people around me that Success Studio has flourished. I don't call our clients "customers"—they’re family.
This place has weathered hard times, and it’s still here, stronger than ever, with an incredible group of people running the ship today. I am thankful for the younger generation who are now carrying on the work we started, and I know Success Studio will continue to be a special place for years to come.
So, if you're free on Saturday, we would love to have you join us. Bring your company, your food, your hunger, and let’s enjoy one more gathering together.
