Saying Goodbye to My Best Friend

Last Tuesday, I had to say good bye to my best friend Titus.

Titus came into my life when I needed him most. At a moment where things felt empty, he filled me back up. He bounded into my world full of energy, personality, cuteness, and was simply full of himself!

I’ll never forget the day I met Titus. It was June 10, 2017 when he arrived at the studio - skinny, scrawny, and smelling like cigarettes. The couple that drove him from Indiana had smoked the entire way, so his first activity with me was a nice bath in the sink to wash away the stink!

The moments of him being tiny flew by, as he grew faster than any dog I had at 10 pounds per month! He put the terrible in terrible twos. He constantly ran away and was generally a pain in my butt.

But, eventually he would turn into this incredible dog that would take care of me, make me laugh, and was always there for me.

Titus loved his time at the studio greeting our members. He was very outgoing and loved people. He always thought everyone was there just to see him and give him undivided attention. He would even force me to take him to Fridays after 5 so people could make over him. The look on his face and the wag of his tail showed he loved every minute of it!

Outside of his personality, Titus was an amazing runner. It was awe-inspiring to watch him run. He would take off after a deer and you could tell the animal was a little surprised at just how quickly he was coming for them! You just had to chuckle watching the whole spectacle unfold.

He loved being walked by my friends and they in turn loved walking him. They’d always come back talking about how they felt like a bad ass - because when you’re walking a 100lbs Doberman nobody messes with you.

Titus meant the world to me, and I know many of you met and loved him throughout the years. This post is not only a chance for me to honor his memory, but give you a chance to as well. I thought I would leave some of my memories in photos, too, for everyone who knew and loved my boy Titus as we say goodbye.
